NSR GROUP has established a fair and reasonable purchasing structure for agarwood, ensuring that sellers receive equitable prices. This initiative aims to stimulate economic growth at the community level.
Currently, the agarwood industry in Thailand lacks clear and consistent market information, with no standardized pricing structure. As a result, small-scale sellers are often at a disadvantage in negotiations with buyers, hindering the potential for Thailand’s agarwood to reach international standards.
Most buyers justify offering lower prices by citing low demand or the uncertainty in quality when purchasing from small-scale sellers, claiming that the wood may not contain usable resin or heartwood, which significantly lowers the purchase price below its actual value.
NSR GROUP believes that with a transparent and reliable purchasing system and a standardized pricing structure, small-scale agarwood growers will no longer be exploited. This will not only create a fairer marketplace but also contribute to the rapid advancement of the agarwood industry in Thailand.
